ABSTRACT

Chinese vegetables export has a relatively high concentration, and according to the data from UNCOMTRADE, Japan has always been the largest importer of Chinese vegetables. Due to the lack of natural resources, less arable land as well as the aging problem of agricultural labor force, a considerable part of Japanese vegetables need to import from abroad. According to UN statistics, Japan is the largest in Asia and the world’s third largest vegetable import country[1]. While China has geographical and cost advantages and low labor costs, as well as low transportation cost, which made Japan become an important export market for Chinese vegetables.
