ABSTRACT

The reliability of 12N bipropellant thruster system for geostationary satellite is assessed. After the typical failure modes analysis, the major influence factors of thruster reliability are summarized. They are studied based on a failure competing model. The basic model parameters are obtained using thrust pulse firing data of thrusters, switching data of valves and thermal shock data of chamber coating. Via Monte Carlo simulation, the reliability distribution of single thruster at the end of mission is gained. According to the standby strategy, the reliability assessment of 12N bipropellant thruster system is made as an example.
