ABSTRACT

Advanced reliability simulation modeling is been largely used as an important mean for processing plants to ensure sustainable lifespan, focusing on uptime and production efficiency levels optimizations (key for Asset Management). Therefore a key step into the modeling process is the reliability parameters definition. Among them the most challenge one is to set failure rate and its time dependency behavior based on registers and their associated uncertainties. This paper aims to compare quantified RAM assessment results of two different approaches for dealing with failure rates based on field data-constant and time-varying, rationalizing potential benefit or pitfalls of investing more time to assess time dependency of each equipment failure records, in a context of complex and advanced reliability modeling.
