ABSTRACT

RAM analysis is a well-established methodology used to predict the performance of systems taking into account the Reliability, Maintainability and Availability. An even more challenging application of this methodology relates to oil and gas developments where a large number of parameters are interrelated and the interdependency of the systems must be taken into account. In order to achieve a comprehensive picture of the production efficiency, not only the reliability and maintainability of the system must be taken into account but also the manner the system is operated.

This paper presents an example of how the operability term is crucial to oil and gas development, showing a base case and sensitivity analysis.
