ABSTRACT

This paper is a continuation of our previous work in this field. Here we utilize four methods (analytical expressions, fault tree analysis, Petri Net, Harel state simulation) as implemented by four the analysis of traditional KooN configurations by analyzing various cases of complete safety instruof the validity of the comparisons for specific failure data values we perform the quantitative assessment to a variety of the most common HIPPS configurations, again for a range of failure data values. The calculations consider a variety of conditions and parameters which are judged important for a complete comparative analysis. As a result we were able to establish a range of conditions of applicability and nonapplicability of the analytical expressions and of the FTA methods by comparison to the more generally

applicable simulation models (which are shown to agree very well among them).
