ABSTRACT

In this paper, the author’s research work is focused on modeling of railway transport system’s reliability in context of train punctuality. There was used the knowledge from previous research related to correlation between type (and age) of used infrastructure elements, and number of occurring failures. The proposed model is an upgrade from the previous one. The most important difference consists in the fact that it has been placed more types of failures. Examples of failure types are: rolling stock, track, train operation devices (related to operating control points or railway line), level crossings, etc. The paper ends with validation of the model, conclusions of the analysis, dealing with applicability of the model to solve problems for the real system and a summary with prospects for further research.
