ABSTRACT

Application of PSA models allow to come up with optimal solutions for plant daily activities and safety issues. One of the key aspects of plant operational safety is continuous monitoring of systems reliability using specific surveillance test and maintenance strategy. Usually systems monitoring strategy is based on system classification which is mainly done using qualitative factors without risk profile consideration. This paper describes a feasibility study aimed to use integrated risk-informed decision making principles for systems classification. Proposed approach for systems classification integrates traditional classification system and plant risk profile obtained using ageing PSA model. In addition paper discusses comparative analysis of results obtained using base case PSA model and ageing PSA model.
