ABSTRACT

The parameters considered included span-to-depth ratio, web-to-chord resistance ratio, bottom-to-top chord-area ratio and connection stiffness. In total, 480 combinations of parameters were analyzed.

The numerical method of analysis employed was developed and validated through comparison with the published experimental results of Collins (1981). The validation of the numerical method for the SOS DLG configuration under point loading was extended to include DOS grid geometry, distributed loading and connection stiffness. Initial bow imperfections were used to model compression failure of individual members.
