ABSTRACT

Sandwich structures are well-known since the mid of 20th century. Modelling and design of these structures was a basic problem. Elastic constants for corrugated cores of the sandwich structures were elaborated by Libove & Hubka (1951). Objective basic researches for sandwich structures were intensively conducted in further decades. Allen (1969) elaborated fundamental monograph for sandwich structures. Noor et al (1996) and Vinson (2001) presented a review of selected problems of sandwich structures. Strength and stability problems of sandwich structures are the subject of contemporary studies. Carrera (2003) elaborated a review of theories for multilayers plates and shells. Carlsson et al (2001) elaborated the elastic stiffnesses of corrugated core sandwich. Analytical modeling and FEM calculations of sandwich structures were presented by Steeves & Fleck (2004), Talbi et al (2009), Kazemahvazi & Zenkert (2009), Seong et al (2010), Jasion et al (2012), Magnucka-Blandzi et al (2012) and Magnucki et al (2013). Modeling and analysis of buckling problems of circular sandwich plates were presented by Jasion et al (2012), Luo et al (2004), Luwu & Changjun (1992), Pawlus (2006), (2008) and Wang & Chen (2003).
