From the above described aims monitoring systems for offshore wind energy converters have the primary tasks as follows.
3.1 Detection of the impact
Generally not the acting loads of wind and wave on the structure should be measured. The aim is rather to determine the effect of the acting loads as generalized stress resultants at the tower head and the pile connections in the area of the foundation.
