ABSTRACT

To provide simply supported conditions for the shear panels of LSB, LCB, DHFB, RHFB and PG, simply supported boundary conditions were applied at the supports and the loading point (middle point).

Applied loading was based on the shear flows and forces in LCBs and LSBs to eliminate any torsional loading effects. The loading and boundary conditions used in the finite element model in this research are similar to those used by Keerthan and Mahendran (2010) in their research on the shear buckling behaviour of LSBs.
