ABSTRACT

For the collapse behavior of braced frame structures and the evaluation of their strength at the ultimate limit state, the investigations of compression braces are usually restricted to one cycle behavior and carried out in such a way that for different section geometry, slenderness and steel grades, a developed simple analytical model could efficiently describe the equilibrium path in both pre-limit and post-limit phases. Moreover, the developed models could reproduce the buckling curves from design codes in case of concentric end connections (Barszcz & Gizejowski 2007).
