ABSTRACT

Vibrations usually have a negative impact on the safety and stability of structures, performance of facilities and comfort of people. They should be controlled or monitored by experimental analysis, and results compared with prescribed values and criteria in relevant standards (Eurocodes, national standards, etc.). In the present case study, results of theoretical and experimental investigations of vibrations at the M. R. Stefanik Bratislava Airport, induced in building structures by pile driving operations, were analyzed mainly from the aspect of safety of the building structures (Bencat et al. 2011).
