ABSTRACT: The paper presents the influence of multiple damages upon the dynamic behavior of beams. The analyzed cases include asymmetric supported beams with rectangular cross-section, having in damaged case open and closed transversal cracks. The investigations involved analytic studies on the intact beams, while the finite element method was used to analysis both healthy and damaged beams. Scenarios for multiple cracks were analyzed and their influence was compared with that obtained by considering the effect of similar single cracks. We remarked that the superposition principle can be applied, fact demonstrated also by experiments.
