ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Coating workshop is commonly equipped with light-weight roof as pressurerelief facility. High-rising coating workshop buildings are nowadays becoming numerous as the rapid development of modern manufacture technology, and then the contradiction between the safety-oriented pressure relief design and energy-saving-oriented design for building compartment is much more manifested. This study intends, by means of CFD Tool, FLACS, to take a coating workshop of a shipyard as example to undertake quantification assessment based upon simulation of gas explosion consequence, and also to give a detailed discussion on feasibility and performance of risk-based pressure-relief design for unstandardized buildings.
