ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The design of helmet-type multi-source information acquisition and processing platform using for earthquake searching and rescuing is based on the Emergency Rescue Study of the huge earthquake disasters like Wenchuan earthquake and some special needs when rescue teams carry out their search and rescues missions in the ruins. The platform is equipped with audio and video devices, GPS, poisonous gas sensors, laser ranging sensors and wireless data transmission equipment. With the application of the platform, the hands of rescuers are liberated, meanwhile, by connecting the control center through Ad Hoc; it provides more efficient collection and transmission of the field information, more accurate rescue decision and eventually improves the efficiency of rescuer.
