ABSTRACT
The forest sector of the Russian Federation includes forestry, logging, sawmilling, plywood, panel, and pulp and paper industries. Over 60,000 large, medium, and small enterprises located throughout the country are engaged in extensive forest regeneration, increasing their productivity, protection from fire and insects, logging, and all types of wood processing. All sectors of the forest industry are technologically interrelated on the basis of production and utilization of the natural resource-raw wood material. The products of the forest industry are widely used in construction, agriculture, the printing industry, trade, and medicine.
