ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the views of the law enforcement community concerning critical issues related to local preparedness for possible terrorist incidents. Information is derived from a statewide conference held on domestic preparedness in Ohio. Representatives from law enforcement agencies located in all 88 counties of the state attended the conference and determined a set of top five priority issues in response to four discussion questions: (a) critical equipment needs; (b) critical training needs; (c) critical internal issues; and (d) critical external issues.
