ABSTRACT

Chlorophenols constitute a group of priority pollutants listed by the US Environmental Agency (EPA) in the Clean Water Act and by the European Union (EU) in the Decision 2455/2001/ EC, due to it is a kind of wide application, environmental toxicity of persistent organic pollutants (pops) (Goretti, D.D et al. 2010). They have been employed in pharmaceuticals, preservatives and dyes. Chlorophenols may also come from the dechlorination of drinking water and waste incineration (Ahmaruzzaman M. 2008; Peng, G.Y et al. 2008). Their persistence and toxicity can directly impact on human health and threaten the environment (Gaya, U.I et al. 2010; Sun, B et al. 2000). So considering the human health and these environmental concerns, the research on the degradation of chlorophenols has important practical significance.
