ABSTRACT

At the moment the two means of automation of shearer loader operating mode are used in all automatic systems of control of shearer loaders (Kowal, J., Podsiadło, A., Pluta, J. & Sapiński, B. 2003). These means are chosen by a shearer’s operator. One of these two means of automation (means 1) is the stabilization of shearer movement speed (V – const). The shearer’s rate of production is set by operator on the basis of specified productivity required. The shearer will work in this mode until power of electric motor of the cutter exceeds its stable value. After that automatic system of control begins to work in accordance with second mean of automation of shearer loader operating mode (means 2). It stabilizes motor power of the cutter (P = max) by means of regulation of shearer feed rate (V – var). When motor power of the cutter is lower that its stable value automatic system of control switches to means 1 again. The shearer’s operator can set the means of automation 2, in which case the automatic system of control will work according to this means all the time.
