ABSTRACT

With advent of multispectral survey technique

fit to take up thermal subband of E-M spectrum (TIR, Thermal Infrared) with wave lengths 8 to 15 µm, investigations of land surface heat flows pattern arrangement and development of respective digital LST maps, gained widespread popularity. LST maps are often used in joint analysis with vegetal indices arrangement maps aimed at identification of suppressed vegetation. Joint application of data on temperature of mapped surface and those from near and middle IR subbands allows for revelation of various thermal anomalies, as well as for reasoning about forest fires location, thermal behavior of industrial wastes lodgement (terricones), leakages in heat supply networks, etc.
