ABSTRACT
It is possible to choose the storage capacity in the context of the specific storage equipment (e.g., racks or bulk), management principles, and material handling (forklifts, conveyors, etc.). Included in the global warehouse, working areas are mapped and defined. Working and picking principles are determined (FIFO, FEFO, etc.) and options are studied (manual operations vs automatization). The information-system support is defined, and the detailed physical warehouse mapping is planned.
