ABSTRACT
Image quality degradation associated with reason (1) is an intrinsic problem of CT image reconstruction due to cone beam geometry and circular source trajectory; this topic is outside the scope of this chapter. Reason (2) is largely related to inaccurate and inconsistent x-ray attenuation measurements via projection images.
