ABSTRACT
It’s relevant the growing demand for metallic structures that have been considered structural solutions in the construction sector in Portugal. As can be seen from Figure 1, it appears that since 2002 there has been a considerable increase in the production of metal construction work in Portugal. It can be seen a relative increase in the production of this type of construction, in the period of time ranging from the years 2002 to 2009, except for 2005, where there was a slight fall in the number of tons produced the material under investigation. To highlight the fact that the values of the years 2008 and 2009 have been obtained on an estimated basis, accordingly the data collected on Agência Europeia para a Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho.
