ABSTRACT

Relationship testing as applied to missing persons is being adapted for use in migration policies and for humanitarian aid for live victims. Chapter 10 describes the application of genetic technologies to the identication of missing persons and victims of mass disasters. In addition, governments apply DNA testing to aid identication of military personnel. In the United States, for instance, all active duty and reserve military personnel provide DNA specimens upon their enlistment, reenlistment, or preparation for operational deployment.
