ABSTRACT

Yet, today, commanders and military theoreticians value intelligence. ey use it in their plans and battles. ey emphasize it in their histories. ey cite it as essential to military operations.

Of course, technology has effected this change. But technology has not outdated all Clausewitz’ remarks: in the age of the ICBM, he is still cited as an authority.1 Has he become obsolete only in intelligence? Has he become entirely obsolete in intelligence? Or have some of his views retained their validity?
