ABSTRACT

Presently, streaming media requires a predifictable and steady network. It also requires a network with little delay and no packet loss. OpenFlow technology is a software-defined network (SDN) prototype that focuses mainly on the separation of the data plane and the control plane. Essentially, this is a network that directs traffic by decoupling the control and forwarding layers of routing. Currently, it can be extremely difficult and challenging not only to operate the network management, but also to maintain and ensure that the network is secure for communications. The intentions of improving and advancing to an SDN are to create switches in the data plane to enhance and simplify packet forwarding devices and to control the behavior of the whole network through the use of a centralized software program.
