ABSTRACT

The application base for sensors in high temperature, harsh environments is expanding rapidly. This growth is partly due to the pace of development of inexpensive electronics making the integration of self-diagnostic sensor systems practical to the point of pervasive adoption. The growth in the application base for high-temperature sensors is also being driven by the performance optimization and useful life extension in critical infrastructure, systems, and operations. Energy exploration and production is a category with several applications for high-temperature sensors.
