Definitions A perforator flap is a vascularized area of skin and/or subcutaneous tissue that receives its blood supply from one or more blood vessels or perforators originating from a named source vessel below the deep fascia (Fig. 5-1) (Table 5-1).1,2 These vessels course, directly or indirectly, to the deep fascia, which they cross en route to the subdermal plexus and respective superficial target tissue (the perforasome).
