ABSTRACT

In recent years, the energy needs of countries such as Turkey has gradually increased in parallel with economic and population growth. Almost 90% of energy production in the world relies on fossil fuels such as petroleum, coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy (Birol, 2011; Chandrasekharam and Bundschuh, 2008). However, the increasing awareness of hazardous effects of fossil fuels on the environment entails usage/production of clean and renewable energy source such as geothermal. The geothermal energy is one of the most reliable, clean, and safe way to produce high-yield energy (Etemoglu et al., 2007).
