ABSTRACT
Ataur Rahman completed his PhD from Monash University in Australia, supervised by Professor Russell Mein, and master’s in hydrology from University College Galway, Ireland. He completed his sabbatical in Cornell University and the University of Newcastle in 2010. He is currently a senior lecturer in water engineering in the University of Western Sydney, Australia. He has over 20 years of experience in water research. His research interests includes œood hydrology, urban hydrology, and environmental risk assessment. He received the G. N. Alexander Medal from the Institution of Engineers Australia in 2002. He has published over 200 research papers, book chapters, and technical reports in water and environmental engineering Ÿelds. He has been heavily involved in the preparation of the forthcoming revised version of Australian Rainfall and Runo£—A Guide to Flow Estimation.
