ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Based on the limited demands for the inter-story drift of the concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) frame-core wall structure in the technical specification for concrete structures of tall building (JGJ3-2010) and the code for seismic design of buildings (GB 50011-2010), and combined with the response spectrum of displacement and the formula of equivalent viscous damping ratio, the calculation formula of reasonable damping coefficient and simplified design method for viscous dampers in the CFST frame-core wall structure were derived. Finally, an example structure was studied by utilizing this method. The results show that the proposed formulas and method are valid and can be a reference for preliminary design of CFST frame-core wall structure with viscous dampers.
