ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The Spatial-temporal variation and trend of meteorological variables were analyzed using the Mann-Kendall and Morlet wavelet methods. The daily data from 32 meteorological stations and 403 rainfall stations in Jiangsu Province from 1956 to 2011 were used for analysis. The results showed that the spatial and temporal distributions of meteorological variables were uneven in Jiangsu Province. In space, precipitation gradually increased from northwest to southeast, showing an increasing trend in southern but an opposite trend in northern. Temperature showed a rising trend in all regions of the province. Pan evaporation decreased from south and north to the central region with a decreasing trend in the whole province. In time, the inner-annual distribution of precipitation was uneven and concentrated in summer. There was a notable increasing trend in temperature from 1956 to 2011 and decreasing trend in pan evaporation from 1980 to 2011.
