ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: Based on the Integrated Coastal Zone Management, the index system of coastal ecological assessment was constructed, which were divided into four subunits: coastal land subsystem, coastal waters subsystem, socio-economic subsystem and management regulation subsystem, and the Ecological Index in the coastal zone of Jiaozhou Bay from 1988 to 2007 was calculated. The results showed that the ecological quality in the coastal zone on Jiaozhou bay showed obvious fluctuation and descending trend form 1988 to 2005, and the ecosystem quality is not optimistic. It is very important theoretically and practically for ICM and sustainable development in coastal zone to study comprehensive ecosystem assessment based on the Integrated Coastal Zone Management, which can effectively improve the ability of the pollution treatment and management.
