ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Rapid increase in quality and quantity of municipal wastewater treatment recently resulted in a large amount of excess sludge. Thermophiles aerobic digestion is a promising technique, easy in operation and economical in maintenace. The thermphilic aerobic digestion sludge by thermophiles consortium isolated was effectively proved for solids dissolve. Inoculated with the consortium, at ultimate pH in thermophilic digestion kept on 7.5, the TSS and VSS removal rate were 33.22% and 44.66%, 14.53% and 24.73% respectively, higher than that in un-inoculated system. The content of SCOD, protein and ammonia all had a fast and large accumulating, and high content of ammonia helped remove pathogens and maintain good buffering. According to the sequence comparisons, it was derived from bacteria belonging to Baclicus lincheniformis, Alcaligenes faecalis and Pseudomonas, respectively.
