ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: Based on construction of Dongjiang free trade port in Tianjin, a large offshore artificial island will be built on the east side of Dongjiang port covering an area of 40 km2. In the paper, by using of the mathematical model, the impact of offshore artificial island’s construction on the marine environment and artificial island’s own environment problem are studied including of the change of the tidal current field before and after construction of the large offshore artificial island, the impacts of offshore artificial island’s construction on pollutant dispersion, the water exchange ability for Tianjin harbor basin and the coastal resort before and after construction of the large offshore artificial island. Research revealed that the construction of offshore artificial island has had a limited effect on the marine environment and it can be provides basic evidence for the approval of the dongjiang large offshore artificial island.
