ABSTRACT

The ozone application is based on its powerful oxidative action. The ozonolysis of chemical and biochemical compounds, as a rule, takes place with high rates at low temperatures and activation energies [1]. This provides a basis for the development of novel and improved technologies, which find wide application in ecology [2], chemical, pharmaceutical and perfume industries, cosmetics [3,4], cellulose, paper and sugar industries, flotation, microelectronics, veterinary and human medicine, agriculture, foodstuff industry, and many others [5-8]. At present it is very difficult to imagine a number of high technologies without using ozone. Here should be mentioned the technologies for purification of waste gases, water and soils, manufacture of organic, polymer and inorganic materials, disinfecting and cleaning of drinking and process water, disinfecting of plant and animal products, sterilization of medical rooms and instruments, resolving cosmetics problems, sterilization and therapy in veterinary and human medicine, surface cleaning and functionalization in the manufacture of polymer and microelectronics articles, flotation, deodorization and decolorization of gases, liquids and solid substances, oxidation in the intermediate stages of various technologies, and so on.
