Abstract . We consider the inverse problem for ground water filtration. Courant elements are used for discretization together with Tikhonov regularization method for ill-posed problems. A special model problem is constructed for finding out the best regularization parameter for the case when the input data must be interpolated to get a regular mesh. Real-life problem is solved on MasPar MP-2 computer.
