ABSTRACT
As early as 1925, de Broglie first described the wave-like characteristics of electrons [1]. Davisson and Gemmer, and Thompson and Reid independently carried out the first electron diffraction experiments in 1927 [2,3]. Modern electron diffraction techniques are based on their pioneering contributions, and today all transmission electron microscopes possess electron diffraction capability.
