ABSTRACT

This book has covered the diverse topic areas of consumer products from a human factors viewpoint. The contributors come from academia and industry and have a mixture of backgrounds , including psychology, ergonomics and design. The hope is that this text will stimulate further interest, reading , research and development. A content analysis of the contributions has revealed four key topics : ergonomics methods , standards and legislation, user-centred design process , and accidents and errors . This concluding chapter will draw the discussions of the contributors together under these topics.
