ABSTRACT
Initial review and approval of a project by an IACUC represent an informed judgment by the committee, that when the protocol is initiated as approved, it will be conducted in full compliance with all applicable federal requirements contained in the AWA, AWAR, HREA, and PHS Policy. The IACUC’s review responsibilities do not, however, end with initial approval of the protocol. The IACUC is obligated by both the AWAR and the PHS Policy to conduct ongoing reviews of protocols.
