ABSTRACT
While any animal may experience spontaneous illness, animals used in research or educational programs are at risk for possible husbandry related problems or potential adverse events due to specic procedures they have undergone. For these reasons, the availability of proper veterinary care is essential to an institutions animal care and use program. Specic care and treatment of all animals should always be guided by the professional judgment of a veterinarian.
