Indentation Size Effect (ISE) and Reverse Indentation Size Effect (RISE) in Nanoindentation

This chapter provides a comprehensive picture of indentation size effect (ISE) and reverse indentation size effect (RISE). With an increase in load and depth of penetration, if the hardness decreases, the phenomenon is called the indentation size effect (ISE). On the other hand, the opposite trend is a reverse indentation size effect (RISE).
