ABSTRACT

Using sewerage systems in order to collect and transport of sewage has been being considered for a long period of time. Deposition of sediments on the invert of rigid boundary channels is a common economical problem. An important factor in the design of sewerage systems is the set of minimum flow condition necessary to prevent problems being caused by the deposition of sediment in the pipes. In this paper the previously presented equations of sediment transport are preliminarily considered and then, by using the data which include a wider range of parameters by applying the nonlinear regression method in MINITAB software with the help of Gauss-Newton algorithm and, of course, by preserving the general form of the presented relations, their coefficients are modified. The results show that the equation proposed herein has higher precision than the previously suggested equations, in comparison with laboratory outcomes.
