ABSTRACT

The Nortek Vectrino II https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML">   T M https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429069246/b59e18fc-9e1d-4389-b000-a1069c1cd27e/content/eq12768.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/> (VII) is a commercially-available instrument designed for velocity profiling, yet few tests of the instrument performance have been published. The objectives here are to: 1) demonstrate the new analysis tool called the Multi Instrument Flow Turbulence Treatment Toolbox (MIFTTT); 2) detail an Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA) model for spike detection and replacement; and 3) describe the influence of seeding material concentration, bin width, and sampling volume location on data quality of the VII. MIFTTT helps to visualize and standardize data analysis. Wider implementation would increase the ease of analysis, training and collaboration. The ARMA model effectively detects and replaces data spikes. Grouped errors and large scale turbulent fluctuations are handled well by the program.
