ABSTRACT
The paper is presenting the derivation of the general formula for long wave velocity in a channel with trapezoidal cross section. The purpose of the paper is to develop the methodology, which is based on the relationship between celerity of long wave and its energy, for unsteady fluid flow analysis. The variant of obtained formula for the waves with small height shows the dependence of the wave celerity on such geometric parameter of the channel as width.
