ABSTRACT
NATM, which is short for New Austrian Tunneling Method, is a reasonable construction method proposed by Professor L.V. Rabcewice et al. from Austria. Being engaged in the practice of tunnel construction for a long time, they put forward the method from the viewpoint of rock mechanics. It is a new construction method that forms a system with the theory of rock mechanics adopting spray anchor technology, construction testing and so on (Xiaohong Li 2002).
