ABSTRACT
Pedestrian traffic is an important part of urban traffic. Among all the trips made in China, 20% are made by pedestrians. As the travel demand in urban city continues to grow, the contradiction between the fast moving motorized vehicles and the pedestrian will tend to deepen. According to the statistics, about 1/3 of traffic accidents are related directly with pedestrians, and almost 1/4 of those who die in road traffic crashes are pedestrians. One of the most major causes behind this is pedestrian violation. The purpose of this paper is to find out the regularity and reason of pedestrian violations at signalized intersections, and provides measures to prevent and correct pedestrian violations. All of these have significant meaning in reality.
