ABSTRACT
In the Mediterranean area, after an initial use of rough rammed earth dating back to the Phoenician settlements, then spread in North African countries, perfectly executed earthen walls became usual in Spain and Morocco as a result of Muslim expansion (Gamrani et al. 2011, Baglioni et al. 2012).
