ABSTRACT

Pozzuoli. The presence of geothermal phenomena (thermal springs, fumaroles, exhalative volcanic activity underwater) and bradyseism, typically emphasizes the volcanic nature of Campi Flegrei. All these peculiar characteristics of geomorphological, environmental and natural order, combined with the richness of its ecosystem and the presence of archaeological remains of relevant historical and artistic value, make this region unique (Alisio 1995; Sirpettino 1999; Di Liello 2005).
